The Vineyard Prayer and Worship Summit is a two-day event that provides an opportunity for you to experience the presence of God in a way that will change your life! The event is welcome to families with children of all ages. We also welcome the church as a whole as we see the church as an inter-denominational creative expression of God’s love. Everyone is welcome!
Why a Prayer and Worship Summit?
In 2003, the Lord gave me, Ruth Rousu, a prophetic word for the Vineyard Church in Canada. He expressed His love for Vineyard Canada and said there was a new season of fruitfulness coming for us. He said that we still had a role to play as part of the Canadian church and the Nations. He was, however, calling us back into a deeper relationship with Himself and to become a ‘People of His Presence’.
In John 15:1-5, it says, “I am the true vine, and my father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me, and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
Another foundational scripture for these summits is Matthew 7:21-23. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven but the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me you workers of lawlessness.’”
The Prayer and Worship Summits are about sowing seeds. They are about encouraging the church to develop a culture of being a ‘People of His Presence’; a people that will absolutely abandon and consecrate themselves to Christ, devote themselves to a lifestyle of worship and prayer, and feast daily in the Word of God. Lives are transformed and gift ministries flourish, because they are built on a solid foundation of abiding intimately in Christ. It doesn’t get more exciting or fruitful than that!
What Happens at a Summit?
~ Most sessions are spent worshipping the Lord through music, dance and other artistic expressions. Worship is primarily led by seasoned worship teams that are sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
~ For all ages there is opportunity provided for the freedom to express one’s love for Jesus through dance and art.
~ We have no set ‘agenda’. We allow the Lord to do what He wants to do, whenever and however He chooses to release His Kingdom purposes. There is a mature discernment team who helps to guide these times corporately.
~ During the Summit there are no planned teaching times. The Pre-Summit Symposiums include teaching times to both equip believers and help prepare us for the Summit.
~ There are times of corporate intercession and opportunity to receive personal ministry.
~ Break times allow for deep relationships to be built with one another.
